Jimmy Thelin’s ‘calm down’ message to Aberdeen at Celtic Park
Aberdeen got off to a quick start, and Celtic didn’t settle into a rhythm until Reo Hatate gave them the lead in the 24th minute.
Thelin delivers his inspiring halftime speech to his Aberdeen team in the Celtic Park dressing room, looking down but not quite out.
Thelin said, “It was a really emotional game,” to BBC Sportsound. We agreed after halftime that we needed to take a little break and return to our plan. We had to figure something out, and being a little more authentic was the first step.
We have a terrific group and team spirit, in my opinion. This season, we have had a few late winners, demonstrating our unwavering perseverance. We were also able to obtain this energy thanks to the away support.
