Livingston 0 - 3 Celtic - Match Report & Highlights

With the tightness at the top of the standings, the Hoops’ noon trip to Ibrox is sure to be a pivotal title matchup.

Jamie Brandon’s awful own goal put the Celts ahead in West Lothian on the weekend. Paulo Bernardo and Matt O’Riley, two midfield players, joined in to cap off a very successful day at work.

The travelling supporters, who occupied three stands at the Tony Macaroni Arena, were in excellent voice after the game.

From the away end, among other things, there were consistent chants of “Bring on the Rangers”:

After the game, John Kennedy acknowledged that the players’ strong performance was the source of the cheers. “Did I hear the chants at the end? Yeah”, he said, “And it’s good” (BBC Sportsound through Football Scotland).

“They [the fans] feed off the players.

“That’s what we were saying to the team as well, the fans want us to play a certain manner and we always try and achieve that.

“You see whenever we’re in full flow and scoring goals, the atmosphere they bring and the confidence it brings the players.

“We’re in a good place and we just need to keep that going.”

In anticipation of the Glasgow derby, fans appear to be becoming more self-assured. Right now, there is a calm air of encouragement surrounding Celtic because important players are getting back to full fitness and their performances are getting better.

Now, all roads lead to Govan, where manager Brendan Rodgers will take his place in the dugout following his appearance yesterday in the Almondvale stands with analyst Jack Lyons.

In other news, John Kennedy updates on Callum McGregor’s fitness status ahead of this week’s Glasgow Derby.
