Former Everton manager Keith Wyness has proposed that MSP Sports Capital purchase the team with the intention of selling it in 2025.

The 66-year-old, who ran a football consultancy advising elite clubs after serving as CEO at Goodison Park from 2004 to 2009, stated the Merseyside club will be a “totally different asset” in 2025 if Premier League status is maintained in an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
In order to pay for the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, Everton has borrowed £158 million from MSP. Should they fail to repay the loan, MSP will be entitled to a majority ownership stake in the team.

Prior to the talks falling through, the US-based investors and Farhad Moshiri entered into an exclusivity agreement over the club’s outright purchase.

As per their agreement in September 2023, 777 Partners has until May 31 to finalise their buyout at Goodison Park.

Although they will probably have to fight again to stay in the Premier League the following season, Everton is excited to move into their brand-new, cutting-edge stadium in 2025.
According to Wyness, MSP Sports Capital may try to turn a quick profit at Everton.

Wyness stated that if MSP were to take over, the 2024–25 season might turn into a “holding season,” with Premier League survival being “critical” to their prospective goals.

He stated on the Insider Track podcast of Football Insider, “It’s possible that someone like MSP Sports Capital will try to hold the club together next season.”It might be a Premier League team with a brand-new stadium.

“2024–2025 might serve as a holding season. It becomes as important as the final few relegation battles, with winning Premier League status as the top goal.
