Kyogo Transfer Latest
Celtic have not received any official offers for their star striker Kyogo Furuhashi, despite a whirlwind of rumors linking the Japanese international with a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Atlanta United.

The speculation reached new heights on Wednesday when MLS’s official website mistakenly published an article claiming Atlanta had signed Kyogo. This caused a stir among Celtic supporters, as the striker was simultaneously appearing as a substitute in Celtic’s match against Dundee United.
The MLS Website Mix-Up
The confusion arose due to an error on the MLS website, which prematurely published details suggesting Atlanta United had secured Kyogo’s signature. This was compounded by the fact that the league had also created a player profile for Kyogo on their site, adding to the credibility of the rumor.
However, the announcement was quickly removed, and the mix-up was clarified. Atlanta United had instead signed another Japanese striker, Cayman Togashi, whose move to the MLS club was confirmed on Wednesday. Togashi, a youth international for Japan, was Atlanta’s target—not Kyogo.
No Official Approaches for Kyogo

Sky Sports News confirmed that Celtic have received no contact from any club regarding Kyogo during this transfer window. Despite Atlanta United being managed by former Celtic boss Ronny Deila, there has been no approach for the prolific forward.
Kyogo’s Importance to Celtic
Since joining Celtic in 2021, Kyogo has become a vital player for the club, delivering crucial goals in domestic competitions and Europe. With Brendan Rodgers’ side contending for the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish Cup, and a possible Champions League knockout stage spot, the manager is determined to retain Kyogo’s services.
Looking Ahead
While the mistaken MLS article caused significant concern among Celtic fans, it appears Kyogo remains committed to the club for now. However, with the January transfer window still open, the situation will be closely monitored by supporters eager to keep hold of one of their most influential players.
