Daniel Farke has led his Leeds team to the top of the Championship with eight games remaining. If Leeds do win promotion, they will need new signings, and they are reportedly interested in one of Celtic’s star players.

Celtic themselves are vying for the title. They are currently one point ahead of Rangers, but the Ibrox side has a game in hand on Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Regardless of whether they win it or not, Celtic could lose midfielder Matt O’Riley, with Leeds reportedly interested in making an offer.

According to GiveMeSport, Leeds could be interested in signing O’Riley if they are successful in regaining promotion to the Premier League.

According to their report, despite having three years left on his current contract, Celtic may be tempted to sell him if the money is right from Leeds’ end.

Since his move to Scotland, the 23-year-old has been a key player for Celtic. This season, he’s started almost every game and scored an impressive 11 goals from midfield.

It’s unclear what sort of fee Celtic would demand from Leeds. However, with goalscoring midfielders in high demand, it’s easy to see why Leeds might be interested in him.

The Premier League is becoming a more difficult nut to crack than ever before for promoted teams.

However, Leeds will be in a good position because they retained some key players after being relegated.

Matt O’Riley would also make an excellent addition. He has proven himself in Scotland, and Brendan Rodgers has praised the 23-year-old’s abilities.

“I like him a lot. I think he is a really intelligent footballer. He is a top professional. He prepares his body well and he prepares his life well. He wants to do well. He sets his standards high every day to be better,” Rodgers said.

If Leeds decide to make a move, they could be getting a very good player.
