The Detroit Lions are preparing for their first playoff game of the season, taking on the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday, January 18, at Ford Field in Detroit.

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated game, the team has made several announcements to excite fans attending the event.

Caleb Carroll Returns for National Anthem

The Lions revealed on social media that Caleb Carroll, the performer who sang the national anthem at the team’s home opener, will return to do the honors for the playoff game.

“After setting the stage at the home opener, Caleb Carroll returns to kick off the @Lions playoff run with the national anthem,” the team shared on X. “Join us in welcoming Caleb back to Ford Field for the Divisional Round.”

Carroll, a 21-year-old metro Detroit native, is known for his powerful vocals and charismatic presence. His bio highlights his passion for performing at sporting events and his dedication to his faith, as he leads the youth praise team at Life Application Ministries in Warren, Michigan.

Theo and the Gridiron Band Set for Halftime

In addition to Carroll’s return, the Lions announced that Theo and the Gridiron Band will perform during halftime. Theo, best known as the singer of the Lions’ fight song, will be joined by the band to deliver an unforgettable performance.

“We’re excited to host a familiar face for halftime,” the Lions posted on X. “This Saturday, Theo will be singing more than our fight song – he will be taking the stage alongside The Gridiron Band, blending their unique musical styles for a great performance.”

With his diverse musical talents and engaging performances, Theo is set to energize the crowd during this pivotal matchup.

The Stage is Set

The Lions enter Saturday’s game with a 15-2 record and the top seed in the NFC, while the Washington Commanders hold a 12-5 record. As fans fill Ford Field, the team hopes the combination of spirited performances and on-field excellence will carry them closer to the NFC Championship.
