During the first press conference under new manager Arne Slot, Richard Hughes, the sporting director of Liverpool, talked about transfers and his connection to Nottingham Forest’s Murillo.

The Brazilian centre back for the Reds has even stated that joining Liverpool “would be a good opportunity” for him. He has been linked to a summer transfer to Anfield.

When asked earlier this summer about his preferred Premier League team to play for when discussing his future, Murillo responded, “I’d choose Manchester City, but it would be more difficult for me to be a regular starter given the players they have in their squad.”In the race for the Premier League title are City and Arsenal. Liverpool would be a fantastic opportunity for me to showcase my football in a major league, so I wouldn’t rule it out either.

We will always be opportunistic when we can, with the window open. Speaking broadly, it is difficult to state and express,” he responded when questioned about the lacklustre start to the summer transfer window.

“There is obviously a lot of football played during the summer when there are major competitions like the World Cup, the European Championship, the Olympics, and in this case, the Copa America.

Naturally, people are paying attention. My prediction for the month of July is that it will settle down after the flurry in June.

“Then, as usual, once August arrives and coaches have had more time to work with players, I believe football clubs’ perspectives will be more entrenched at that point.

As in past seasons, you might then witness a scenario in August where there’s a slight sense of urgency to finish tasks and make sure everyone’s squads are in order.

“I don’t think this will be any different, but you never know what the economy will do. Saying and speaking for other clubs is difficult. I predict a calm July followed by a climax in August.”
