Liverpool identify Nott’m Forest star as one of three top transfer targets after Van Dijk admission
TEAMtalk can exclusively disclose that Liverpool is seriously investigating a transfer for Nottingham Forest center-back Murillo, but Chelsea may present competition.
In light of the uncertainty surrounding Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, the Reds have created a shortlist of potential center backs.
Although Van Dijk hasn’t explicitly said that he won’t sign a new deal with Liverpool, the team still intends to add defensive reinforcements next summer.
Van Dijk stated last week, “I can say obviously [contract] discussions are ongoing, but I don’t know, we will see what happens in the future.” “My entire focus is on Liverpool, wanting to win games that are ahead of me and nothing else.” I have no idea what the future holds.
The 22-year-old Murillo “forcefully” made his way onto Liverpool’s shortlist as a major defensive target, according to sources who spoke to TEAMtalk. We know that before determining whether to make a move next summer, the Reds plan to keep a careful eye on him throughout the season.
Next summer, Liverpool’s top goal will be to get a center-back who can be included in their starting lineup right away. Their current main objectives are Murillo and Gonaclo Inacio of Sporting CP. Meanwhile, Sevilla star Loic Bade is regarded as a high-quality, low-cost option, and the Reds will keep an eye on him this season.
