Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic Has Reportedly Made A Decision About Participating In The Olympics.
After missing the NBA playoffs entirely last season after reaching the Western Conference Finals the year before, no one knew what to expect from Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in 2023-24.
The Mavericks’ acquisition of fellow superstar Kyrie Irving before the NBA trade deadline was expected to be a game changer for the 2022-23 season, but the club immediately flamed out, leading many to assume the new dynamic combo would not work in Dallas.
Fortunately for the Mavericks, Doncic and Irving dramatically reversed the narrative this season, paving the path back to the postseason, which was followed by a historic playoff run that culminated in an appearance in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
Even though the Mavericks lost in five games to a much stronger Celtics team, Dallas has a bright future ahead of them, but Doncic faced a difficult decision after an exhausting 2023-24 season over whether to represent Slovenia in the Olympics this summer.
Despite just concluding the longest season of his NBA career to date, Doncic has elected to represent his country next month in Paris, France, according to Forbes’ Evan Sidery.

Obviously, this is fantastic news for the Slovenian national team, as it significantly enhances their prospects of competing against the Americans and other predicted strong opponents.
However, the Mavericks may not be thrilled with this concept because it would put more strain on Doncic’s health after such a long season, especially given the injuries he suffered during the playoffs.
