Nottingham Forest
Marinakis’ connections could lead to a surprise transfer to Nottingham Forest next summer.
Olympiacos of Greece completed the loan signing of David Carmo from Porto this week, with the option to buy.
The defender had a disagreement with Dragons’ manager Sérgio Conceição and teammates, prompting the club to find a quick solution for his departure.
According to CMTV, Nottingham Forest could get involved in the situation and sign Carmo in the near future.
The scenario is described by journalist Vitor Pinto. He begins by claiming that Olympiacos is spending €600,000 on the loan deal and will have the option to buy the player for €18 million.
According to reports, the amount is far too high for the Greek side, which is unfamiliar with such large operations, and that is where Nottingham Forest comes in.
Pinto explains that because Evangelos Marinakis owns both Olympiakos and the Tricky Trees, they’ll be watching how Carmo performs at his new club.
If the defender impresses in Greece, the club could buy him for that price and loan him to Nottingham Forest the following season.
So, Reds fans should keep an eye on this situation in the coming months.
