Faxsoccer brings you the latest Coventry City news, including Mark Robins’ thoughts on Dave Boddy’s departure and incoming chief operating officer John Taylor.

Mark Robins admits he has yet to meet incoming chief operating officer John Taylor, but he is looking forward to working with the former Nottingham Forest executive now that Dave Boddy’s departure has been confirmed.

After more than six years with the Sky Blues, Boddy will leave in January. The former Newport County chief executive has played a key role in the club’s rise, having helped transform Coventry from a League Two side in 2018 to a penalty shootout away from the Premier League in May of this year.

And Sky Blues manager Robins admits that he will miss working with Boddy when he leaves in the new year.

“He’s a brilliant person we’ve had around,” Robins said. “He has been fantastic for me and for the football club and he’s helped facilitate all of the things, all the decisions, all of the the options that we’ve had.

“We’ve sifted through, we’ve planned a course and then stuck with it and it’s been successful to this point. Obviously, things change. Dave feels it’s the right time for him to do something else, maybe recharge his batteries I saw him say but ultimately go on and do whatever he chooses to do next and wish him all the best in whatever he does.

Robins also expresses his desire to work with Taylor when they finally meet. “No, I haven’t met him and I don’t know him,” he added.

“But again, that will be another relationship to build. Things are changing and I look forward to meeting him.”
