Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler has filed a trademark for the term ‘Emo Jimbo’ following his viral look from NBA media day.

The term will be used for the ‘EMO JIMBO’ clothing brand that Butler is planning to launch.

Back in October, Butler arrived at a media day wearing long straight hair that was styled to cover one of his eyes to go along with a pierced eyebrow, lip, and nose.

He went on to claim he was in an ’emo state’ as he continued the tradition of altering his appearance on media day for the second year in a row.

While taking phots with teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, Butler was heard saying ‘this is my Halloween ,’ in regard to changing up his look.

Last season Butler showed up to media day clean shaven and with long fake dread locks.

The 34-year-old veteran led Miami on a surprising run to the NBA Finals last season and has continued to carry the team this year.

Butler is currently averaging 20.7 points, five rebounds and four assists per game this season for the 10-8 Heat.

While it remains to be seen if the six-time All-Star’s celebration of media day Halloween will lead to another Finals appearance, a deep playoff run at the least should be sure to allow his ‘Emo Jimbo’ line more than enough spotlight to flourish.

Butler also led the Heat to the Finals in 2020.
