NAT PHILLIPS has returned to Liverpool after failing to convince during his short-term loan at Celtic, a move revealed by CQN over a fortnight ago.

The champions sent out an SOS in the summer when Cameron Carter-Vickers, Stephen Welsh, and £7.3 million signings Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke were all injured.

Phillips, 26, made just eight appearances for the Hoops, scoring a terrible own goal in the team’s 2-1 loss to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on December 10.
In this window, the Englishman is likely to be on the move again, either permanently or temporarily. He doesn’t appear to have a future at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers has been linked with Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn, according to a report in the Scottish Sun, as Phillips prepares to leave.

The 24-year-old German-born forward, who has previously played for Ajax and Bayern Munich, relocated to Austria for a bargain £500,000 18 months ago.

Rapid is reportedly seeking at least £2 million for Kuhn, who is under contract until June 2026.
