Neco Williams may be very interested in seeing what happens to Anthony Gordon at Newcastle now

Neco Williams, a defender for Nottingham Forest, may be keeping an eye on Newcastle United’s activities in the coming weeks.

The right-back for the Reds has been playing well lately, especially since Nuno Espirito Santo joined the team.

But he has been sidelined by injury for the past two games, and he may not be able to play on Sunday as well.

After a mediocre 2022–23 campaign, Williams has improved as a player at Forest this season, proving he can compete in the Premier League.

The £17 million Liverpool acquisition may now be keeping a close eye on a Newcastle player in the upcoming days and weeks.

Anthony Gordon, a star of Newcastle, criticises VAR following Manchester United’s loss.

Before the season ends, Williams, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Forest will be charged by the FA.

That follows after openly criticising VAR after Forest’s 2-0 loss to Everton last month.

Gordon may end up in the dock as well if things continue to be done this way.

Newcastle’s 3-2 loss to Manchester United last night could have been avoided if VAR had given Gordon a penalty.

Sofyan Amrabat gave him a hard tackle that left him with a sore Achilles and a big hole in his sock.

“I don’t see the point of VAR,” Gordon remarked following the match. Things move quickly, so I can understand why the referee would miss it, but I don’t understand why VAR doesn’t pick it up.

“Either get well or get rid of it. It’s incredibly easy to do.

Gordon ought to be charged with the same offence as Forest star Williams.
After Forest’s loss to Everton, the FA and the Premier League set a precedent by shoving the book at them.

It only seems right that Gordon respond to some inquiries regarding his remarks as well.

Should the player who Newcastle paid £45 million to sign walk free, it would undoubtedly create a risky precedent moving forward.

After that match against Everton, Forest did not cover themselves in glory.

Micah Richards and Alan Shearer made fun of Forest for his social media outburst, and they had a point.

Following the events, Forest had every right to feel vindictive, but their behaviour wasn’t ideal.

When Williams had his mini-rant in the same setting as Gordon during his post-game interview, he remained composed.

It seems only fitting that the two be charged equally as a result, and it will be interesting to watch if the FA questions Gordon about the incident.

Williams, the defender for Forest, will be observing with curiosity.
