Neil Lennon is reportedly on the verge of being fired as manager of Rapid Bucharest after only three months in charge. Prominent Romanian journalist Emanuel Roșu has revealed that the club is preparing to part ways with the former Celtic manager, who was appointed in May.

Lennon’s tenure has been marred by a string of poor results, with the club losing all six league games he has managed.

This difficult period has been exacerbated by personal tragedy, as Lennon recently lost his mother, which undoubtedly affected his focus and morale.

Despite his combative stance with the Romanian media, his performance on the pitch has not aided his cause. It appears that the fit between Lennon and Rapid was never perfect, with opposition to his appointment evident from the start.

Lennon’s time at the Romanian club appears to be coming to an end early, cutting short the two-year contract he originally signed. With the lack of victories and ongoing media scrutiny, it appears that both the club and the manager may be ready to move on.

Former Celtic custodian Benjamin Siegrist has only recently joined Rapid after Neil personally signed him. Not the best start for the stopper.
