Philadelphia Eagles
NFL rumors: Philadelphia Eagles are ‘bracing’ for massive offseason departure.
The Philadelphia Eagles, fresh off a run to Super Bowl LIX with one of the most formidable rosters in recent NFL history, now face the possibility of major changes during the offseason.

With a squad built for long-term success, the franchise is reportedly preparing for a significant departure.
Several key free agents could hit the market, creating potential gaps on both sides of the ball. On defense, edge rusher Josh Sweat, defensive tackle Milton Williams, and All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun are all set to become free agents. Meanwhile, on the offensive side, right guard Mekhi Becton’s contract is also nearing its expiration.
Adding to the uncertainty, veteran edge rusher Brandon Graham is contemplating retirement. Additionally, crucial depth players like Kenneth Gainwell, Oren Burks, and Avonte Maddox are on expiring contracts, further exacerbating the challenge for the front office.

But the most impactful potential departure could be on the coaching staff. According to ESPN’s senior NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Eagles are “bracing” for offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to take the head coaching job with the New Orleans Saints following Super Bowl LIX. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network corroborated the report, noting that Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has informed other coaching candidates that his focus is now on Moore.
Pelissero also revealed that Moore is already in the process of assembling a potential coaching staff for New Orleans. While no names have surfaced yet, there is a strong possibility that Moore may take several Eagles assistants with him for promotions.
Losing Moore would mark the third consecutive offseason where the Eagles would need to find a new offensive coordinator. Moore was brought in to replace Brian Johnson, who was dismissed after the 2023 season. Johnson had previously stepped into the role when Shane Steichen departed to become the Indianapolis Colts’ head coach.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni will likely have some involvement in the search for Moore’s successor, but general manager Howie Roseman is expected to play a significant role after his success in hiring Moore and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio last offseason.
