Adam Idah started for Norwich again this weekend, and he assisted in their 1-1 draw with Standard Liege.

It was the Irishman’s second consecutive start under new Canaries manager Johannes Hoff Thorup.

He appears to see Idah as an integral part of his campaign strategy.

“Like we said from day one, he’s a vital part of the group and of the squad here”, he said (Football Scotland).

“Adam’s working hard in training, a good guy with good energy. He’s really doing well and I hope it’s obvious for him and everyone that he will play a vital part for this team.”

Despite Thorup’s comments, Celtic want to bring Idah back to Glasgow.

His impact on loan last season was significant, as he scored some crucial goals that propelled the Bhoys to victory.

Manager Brendan Rodgers openly admitted at the end of last season that he wanted to sign the 23-year-old permanently, but there has been little progress since then.

Contrasting reports have emerged about the Scottish champions’ interest in Idah, with those predicting an agreement have failed to happen.

There is still plenty of time in the window for something to be finalised, but Celtic appear to be dragging their heels right now, and fans are growing increasingly frustrated.
