‘Not what Celtic want to hear…’ Marvin Bartley sends a clear message on possible Adam Idah deal
Celtic have sorted one priority position out by adding in two new goalkeepers this summer, but other positions remain unfilled.
Joe Hart’s retirement left a large hole in the Celtic goal.
To counteract this, Celtic have signed highly rated youngster Viljami Sinisalo and experienced shot stopper Kasper Schmeichel.
The Celtic supporters have given their approval, and they are very pleased with the direction their club has taken.
However, the Adam Idah cloud remains over the club’s head, and fans are hoping Brendan Rodgers can get his man.
The Republic of Ireland international spent only six months at Parkhead, but he became an instant hero, and many fans want him to return.
He not only helped Brendan Rodgers win the title for Celtic, but he also scored some crucial goals against Rangers.
The Championship club’s new manager, Johannes Hoff Thorup, has spoken about Idah’s future.
Even though the 23-year-old was loaned out, Hoff Thorup believes Idah will be a ‘important player’ for the promotion-chasing club in the future.
Marvin Bartley stated that it is ‘not what Celtic fans want to hear’ and that they will have to go above and beyond to sign him, according to Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
Will the Celtics sign Adam Idah?
“No, not at all,” Bartley agreed, noting that Celtic fans would not want to hear the Norwich manager say that about Idah. “As I previously stated, on the basis of how he finished the season with Celtic. Many of their fans wanted the transfer to happen right away.
“It’s always going to be difficult when a new manager joins Norwich. He was always going to look at his teammates. He sees Adam as an important part of that; if a player wants to go somewhere and the club meets their valuation, they will go regardless of what managers say. But this is not what Celtic wants to hear.
“What you want to hear is that he is surplus to requirements. If we can move him on, we will; you will pay significantly less for him. I believe Celtic will have to dig deep into their pockets if they want to bring him to the football club, because they must entice him away from Norwich rather than Norwich moving him on.
It’s time for the Celtic board to prove their worth.
Not long ago, Celtic fans were chanting’sack the board’ as their team lost at home to Hearts.
The board has been very clear about their transfer market strategy, and it has resulted in pure dominance on the domestic stage, even if European results show otherwise.
