Nuno Espirito Santo, aims to strengthen his defence in January.

Since his arrival in December, Nuno Espirito Santo has identified the striker position as one to improve at Nottingham Forest, but he is also looking for a new defender.

However, their search may be put on hold after the club was charged with violating the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

TEAMtalk reported earlier this week that Forest is interested in signing Trevoh Chalobah this month.

The Chelsea defender turned down a move to the Tricky Trees in the summer, but it is thought he may make the switch due to his desire to stay in England.

The Blues will reportedly accept a £25 million bid for the defender, but Forest will face competition from a couple of Italian clubs, most notably Napoli.
How would Chalobah fit into the Forest team?

Murillo, who joined Forest for around £15 million in the summer, has been a pillar of the backline. The left-footed star has played as the left centre-back in 15 Premier League games this season, and he has yet to be replaced since joining the starting lineup.
Furthermore, prior to this weekend, the Brazilian led all players aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues in terms of clearances per 90 minutes (6).

Chalobah has been dubbed a “monster” by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig for his ability to dominate both with and without the ball, with the ex-Huddersfield loanee extremely comfortable dealing with direct attackers thanks to his athletic frame, which makes him dynamic, as evidenced by his impressive tackling statistics.

The Chelsea star’s greatest strength is his ability on the ball and confidence in receiving it under any circumstances, as evidenced by his high touches, successful take-ons, and completed passes. However, he also has the courage to move the ball quickly, which is essential when playing for a team that attacks on the break.
