Nottingham Forest is allegedly thinking about suing Sky after Gary Neville compared the Reds’ post-Everton statement to that of a “mafia gang.”

Following Sunday’s loss at Goodison Park, in which they were denied three penalty calls, the Reds responded angrily. The team stated that they were concerned prior to the match about the fact that Stuart Attwell, the VAR official, was a supporter of Luton Town. They have since asked for audio recordings of the game.
Neville criticised Forest for his remarks on Sunday, and according to the Mail, Forest’s legal team is currently drafting a letter to the corporation about what he said. It resembles a declaration from a mafia gang. Really, what the devil are they even playing at? On Sky Sports, the former Manchester United player said.

Gary Neville thought £34m Liverpool man completely made up for a poor first half vs

It looks embarrassing, like a whiny child. And some of the things they’re saying there, like the implication of possible cheating due to the Stockley Park VAR official who supports Luton, are scandalous, and they will pay for it.”

It has been reported elsewhere that the club has admitted in private that they ‘acted emotionally and with haste’ when making their Sunday statement. The FA has formally requested observations from the club, Nuno Espirito Santo, Neco Williams, and Forest’s “referee analyst,” Mark Clattenburg, so it is reportedly unlikely that they will avoid a potential fine.

Furthermore, despite allegations that concerns were raised, PGMOL chief Howard Webb allegedly told Clattenburg he would not remove Attwell from VAR duty. Reportedly, Webb was not aware that Attwell was a Luton supporter, but ‘did not believe it necessary’ that the situation should be changed.

With four games remaining, Forest is presently one point ahead of the Hatters, who hold the final Premier League relegation spot.
