Nottingham Forest handed big boost ahead of Wolves clash as injury update provided
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Murillo are both expected to be healthy for Nottingham Forest’s Monday match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Due to injuries, the two were unable to play in last Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Everton. Due to a dead leg he suffered against Tottenham Hotspur, winger Hudson-Odoi was left out of the Goodison Park squad; nevertheless, teammate Murillo was supposed to start against the Toffees.
On Merseyside, though, the center-back withdrew out of the starting lineup after feeling his adductor muscle during the warm-up. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo switched from a three-man defense to a four-man defense, and Ramon Sosa took his position in the starting lineup.
“Much better. They are much better,” Nuno said of Hudson-Odoi and Murillo ahead of next week’s trip to the west Midlands.
“I think they will be available. Tomorrow we will decide, but I think they are going to be OK.”
Nuno is also hopeful long-term absentees Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare will soon be back involved. The former has been sidelined since the opening game of the season with a broken ankle while fellow midfielder Sangare has been out since September with a hamstring problem.
Prior to the match against Ipswich Town in November, Danilo participated in a non-contact training game with his teammates, which accelerated his recuperation. Since then, the Reds have been progressively increasing the amount of contact he experiences. However, neither player will play against Wolves.
“Danilo is getting better and better. Monday is too soon but he is almost (there),” Nuno said. “His teammates are respecting by not going very hard on him, but he is doing better and better and better.
“Ibrahim is close. He is on the pitch now, working individually and getting his fitness back. Hopefully he is going to join us very soon.”
