After releasing eighteen players this week, Nottingham Forest reduced their wage expenditure by £15 million, according to sources who spoke with Football Insider.

On Wednesday, June 5, the team announced on their website that 18 players had left the City Ground this summer. This was the retained list.
Six first-team players have left the team: Scott McKenna, Felipe, Loic Mbe Soh, Wayne Hennessey, Harry Arter, and Cheikhou Kouyate.
Divock Origi, Gonzalo Montiel, Gio Reyna, Rodrigo Ribeiro, and Nuno Tavares are the other five loan stars who have returned to their parent clubs.

It’s believed that Origi was among the highest paid players at the team; during his loan period, the Belgian striker brought in about £110,000 a week.

Nottingham Forest’s £15 million cut can allay PSR concerns.
Before he retired, Felipe made about £70,000 a week, compared to roughly £40,000 for Gio Reyna and Harry Arter.
All told, Football Insider has been informed that Forest’s summer departures have resulted in a wage bill reduction of nearly £15 million.

The club’s budget will see a major increase as a result of the wage bill reduction under the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
The 2023–24 season saw Forest docked four points for exceeding their allowable losses by £34.5 million.

Although they should be nearing their PSR cap once more in the upcoming season, salary reductions will give the team more financial wiggle room.
