NOTTINGHAM FOREST are nearing a deal to sign U.S. youth international forward Kristian Fletcher on loan from D.C. United, sources tell GIVEMESPORT.

It would be a one-year loan with a buyout clause. In England, the transfer window ends on Friday, August 30. The move was first reported by The Washington Post.

Fletcher, 19, shone last year while playing on loan for Swansea City’s Under-21 team. He made 13 MLS appearances with D.C. this season as he continued to establish himself in the starting lineup. This year, the forward has played for the United States Under-19 youth national team and has made a total of 28 appearances in the first team for D.C. At the age of 17, he signed a contract with the MLS team.

Fletcher will probably play in Premier League 2 for Nottingham Forest’s reserve squad. The Under-21 team began the 2024–25 season with victories in both of its first games.

Matt Turner, an American custodian, is currently playing for Nottingham Forest. Goalie Ethan Horvath has previously played for the team, and USMNT player Gio Reyna spent half of the previous season on loan.
