Nottingham Forest have turned down interest in Orel Mangala, and the Belgian is now set to stay at the City Ground.

This information comes from the Daily Express.

So, how did Forest manage to keep Mangala despite competition from a number of clubs? Let’s look more closely.
Nottingham Forest will keep Orel Mangala.
Well, this is fantastic news. Forest would lose a quality player if they let Napoli sign the 25-year-old.

According to the Daily Express, Forest has decided to keep Mangala, as Nuno Espirito Santo is pleased with his performances.

The 25-year-old had agreed to personal terms with Napoli, but they have now signed Leander Dendoncker from Aston Villa instead.

The Naples-based club will not be signing two midfielders this month, so Mangala will remain at Forest.
Forest will undoubtedly benefit from Ibrahim Sangare and Cheikhou Kouyate’s presence at the African Cup of Nations.

Mangala has been instrumental recently, making 19 appearances this season and scoring once in November.

Forest have made a big call about midfielder.
This makes sense from a Forest perspective, as Mangala is one of the team’s top performers.

According to Who Scored, the midfielder currently has the best pass-success ratio among Forest midfielders.

With that in mind, Espirito Santo is making the right decision to keep him, and Forest cannot afford to lose too many key players.

Mangala always gives his all in the Forest engine room, and he’s recently stepped up to secure a regular position.

Fighting off Napoli and Juventus was always going to be difficult, but it’s encouraging to see Forest stand firm on this one.
