In the upcoming weeks, Nottingham Forest will be increasing their recruitment efforts, and players will sign and depart.

To essentially avoid another deduction of points due to PSR regulations, the Reds had to raise £20 million.
Due to their financial conduct, Forest lost four points in the previous season, but it appears that this time around the threat has been avoided.

The Reds plan to let go of several players, and one in particular will shortly make an announcement at a new team.

There have been rumours circulating today about another center-back quitting the team.

When can we expect Moussa Niakhate to depart from Forest?

It was revealed last week that Lyon, a team in Ligue 1, was interested in Moussa Niakhate.

The Senegalese defender is wanted, and negotiations between Lyon and him have now been successful.
Now that the medical has been finished, according to Fabrizio Romano on X, Niakhate will be formally unveiled the following week.

After spending two seasons on Trentside, the 28-year-old is leaving Forest, and the Reds will receive over £20 million in compensation for his services.

Since joining Forest, Niakhate has battled with a few injury issues, so this move makes perfect sense.

Niakhate is seldom thought of as the first choice now that Forest has Murillo in place, so it makes sense to sell him this summer.

To compete in the transfer market, Forest must
Elliot Anderson, a midfielder for Newcastle, is getting closer to joining the Reds, and that should happen very soon.

With Niakhate departing, Forest must now ensure that their defensive ranks are fully stocked prior to the start of the season.

The player creates a small defensive opening, so Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo will undoubtedly welcome some reinforcements at this point.

It would have been beneficial for Forest to retain Niakhate at the team.

He will be simpler to replace than one of the team’s stars, though, so whatever if it makes it easier for the Reds to meet FFP requirements.

However, Forest will need to get busy, and perhaps some new players can join the team to help with defence.
