Latest Nottingham Forest news as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds face the crucial January transfer window.

Michy Batshuayi, a long-term target for Nottingham Forest, could be heading to Rangers.

The striker has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time. They came close to signing him after securing promotion to the Premier League, and they kept an eye on him again last summer.

According to Yelp, Turkey is still interested in him before the transfer window opens this month. But it appears that Rangers are now in pole position to sign the Fenerbahce forward.

Batshuayi has had a mixed career in Turkey, and he has not always been a consistent starter. He appears to be leaving Fenerbahce this month, and several clubs are reportedly interested in signing him.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has “made a pitch” to sign the 30-year-old on a short-term contract. It is said that “crucial talks” are expected to take place soon, with the hope that a move can be made quickly.

Everton, Forest’s Premier League rivals, are also linked with the former Chelsea player. Rangers, on the other hand, are reportedly “leading the chase”.

Batshuayi joined Fenerbahce after his move from Stamford Bridge to the City Ground collapsed in the summer of 2022, with reports claiming the Blues failed to send the necessary paperwork on time. The Reds considered him again last summer, but their attacking options were eventually bolstered by the loan signing of Divock Origi from AC Milan.

Fenerbahce president Ali Koc is said to have urged Batshuayi to make a decision about his future. He informed En Son Haber (via the Daily Record): “I have told him. If you want to stay, there are accommodations available in Fenerbahce. However, if you are restless while on the bench, it will affect the team. Please let us know your final decision as soon as possible.
