Nottingham Forest are reportedly eyeing a move for Arouna Sangante, a central defender from Le Havre, as they prepare for the upcoming January transfer window.

As Nuno Espirito Santo evaluates his Nottingham Forest squad, the potential departures of Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna could make room for a defensive addition. Arouna Sangante of Le Havre is reportedly on Forest’s radar, as is Fulham’s, but Le Havre is said to be seeking a large fee for the center-back ahead of the January transfer window, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
Arouna Sangante, who was born in Dakar, Senegal, began his career in France as a youth player with Cosmos Saint-Denis and Red Star. He was signed as a teenager by Le Havre, who nurtured him through their renowned youth system.

Sangante, who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, has played an important role for Le Havre in Ligue 1, where they currently sit 11th after gaining promotion. While he has yet to receive his first Senegal call-up, his impressive performances could see him join the likes of Nottingham Forest’s Moussa Niakhate and Cheikhou Kouyate in the national squad in the near future.

According to Foot Mercato, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United were all interested in Arouna Sangante after seeing his performances this season. Nottingham Forest has now entered the competition and could make a January move for the defender.

If Forest can match Le Havre’s asking price for Sangante, it will be a huge statement given his ties to some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
