After Brighton’s bid was rejected, Southampton and Nottingham Forest entered the race to sign Fenerbahce star Ferdi Kadioglu, according to Sabah.
A number of Premier League clubs have taken notice of the left-back’s performances this summer after he helped Turkey reach the quarterfinals of the Euro 2024 competition.
The exciting left-back, who can also play on the right, is available for just £25 million, and the Seagulls are set to make another attempt at signing him. The Saints and Forest will also be vying for his signature.
Southampton Want to Sign Kadioglu
Fenerbahce is not willing to let him go.
Following his impressive performance on the global scene, Brighton has taken steps to bring the 24-year-old to the Premier League. Fenerbahce is holding out for about £35 million because they don’t want to lose him, even though they made an offer worth £25 million.
According to Sabah, Kadioglu, who has been called a “future superstar” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has been persuaded to join the Seagulls after two seasons by the team’s assurance that he can leave for a premier European team. It’s up to the player to decide, though, as Southampton and Nottingham Forest are also expressing interest in him.

To exacerbate matters, Fenerbahce has thrown a wrench in the works by threatening to offer him a new contract that would come with a significant salary increase in an attempt to persuade him to remain in Turkey. The three Premier League clubs will be waiting to hear the results of talks that are scheduled to take place in the coming days between the club, the player, and his representatives to discuss the situation and find a solution.
Earlier in the transfer window, a number of other Premier League teams, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Newcastle, were linked to a move for him.
Despite the Istanbul club’s 99-point league record and their close loss to Galatasaray on the last day of the season, Kadioglu’s stellar play in 2023–2024 included four assists and one goal from left back.
