According to rumours in Belgium, Genk has made an increased bid for Celtic striker Oh in order to finalise a deal.

The Belgian club was in talks with the Hoops last week, who are keen to offload the 23-year-old after buying him from Suwon Bluewings in his country for £2.5 million 18 months ago. Last week, it was announced that Parkhead was on set to make at least £1 million in profit.

However, no agreement has yet been achieved, though it may be closer if rumours from Belgium are to be believed. According to HLN Sport journalist Bob Faesen, Genk has raised its offer for the South Korean striker in order to complete the transfer.

An Oh departure would leave Kyogo as Celtic’s only recognised senior striker, but manager Brendan Rodgers has stated that he wants to bring back Adam Idah from Norwich after the Irishman’s successful loan spell, during which he scored a number of important goals, including the winner in the Scottish Cup final.

Despite scoring 12 goals in 47 appearances, the majority of which came from the bench, Oh has never been able to establish himself as a regular in the team. He was signed as a replacement for Giorgos Giakoumakis, who had likewise failed to unseat Kyogo as the starter.

He fueled the leaving rumours last week by posting a picture of himself training with the phrase “Next one,” maybe hinting at a move to his next club.
