OLA AINA FASCINATING COMMENT ON LIVERPOOL STAR MAN ( MO SALAH )
Ola Aina, a defender for Nottingham Forest, made the claim that a certain former Manchester City player was superior to Mohamed Salah.
The defender has played with and against a variety of elite players during his 56 Premier League appearances for Forest, Fulham, and Chelsea—the first coming back in 2016 during Antonio Conte’s Chelsea tenure.
But as of late, the Nigerian has been expressing his opinions about some of the well-known players who have played in the Premier League or are currently playing there; one former City player has received particular attention.
Aina places Salah below the former Man City player.
In a recent video posted to the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Aina was tasked with ranking five current and former African top players in order of blindness. The Forest defender ranked Salah in fifth position before placing Yaya Toure in second.
Once the five names were read out, Aina’s ranking saw Didier Drogba come first, then Toure, with Jay-Jay Okocha in third, Kanu fourth and Salah last.
Salah versus Toure
Between 2010 and 2018, the midfielder spent eight years playing at the Etihad Stadium. In that time, he made 316 appearances across all competitions, scoring 80 goals, dishing out 47 assists, and taking home multiple trophies, including three Premier League titles.
After seven seasons at Liverpool, Salah has made 349 appearances in all competitions, scored 211 goals, and provided 89 assists. However, he has only won one Premier League title.
Even though Toure and Salah are two of the greatest players in Premier League history, many City supporters will be happy to see that Aina ranked Toure second and Salah last in his blind ranking.
Although Toure and Salah have undoubtedly had a significant impact at City and Liverpool, respectively, it surprised us that Aina ranked the Egyptian last considering the quantity of goals and assists he has provided for the Reds.
