On Instagram, Alistair Johnston Makes A Funny Mask Verdict
Regarding the mask that he wore during a portion of Celtic’s thrilling 3-1 victory over Motherwell on Sunday, Alistair Johnston gave a hilarious assessment.
A week and a half ago, the Canadian right-back who sustained a facial fracture away at Hibernian made his way back into the starting lineup. Like Callum McGregor from a few years ago, Johnston continued to play with a mask after getting hurt.
This was to protect him from further harm following such a gentle knock. However, Blair Spittal, 25, quickly dispensed with the protection after he scored the game’s first goal at the end of the first half.
As the Motherwell players were having their celebratory moment, Johnston shook his head and removed his mask. After that, he dashed to the dugout and returned it to the medical staff.
While he was wearing it, Celtic posted on Instagram, but Johnston shared it to his story following the game with the caption, “Mask is in the bin”:
The defender appeared to be bothered by it, and after he took it off, Johnston’s play appeared to improve. Adam Idah did, in fact, score his late goal from his cross. It is likely that Johnston will play Dundee without a mask midweek.
