‘Outstanding’… Stephen Robinson got blown away by a £15k-a-week Celtic player on Sunday.

Stephen Robinson, St Mirren manager, has expressed his admiration for one Celtic player’s performance in Paisley on Sunday.

Robinson’s side were defeated 2-0 by Brendan Rodgers’ men, and while the Buddies manager was disappointed to be eliminated from the Scottish Cup, he had high praise for Celtic custodian Joe Hart.

According to Robinson [PLZ Soccer], Celtic’s defensive performance does not receive the recognition it deserves. They are regarded as a very good football team.

Robinson adds a real touch of class and humility there. Hart’s performance at St Mirren was probably one of his best this season.
As I mentioned yesterday, the £15k per week custodian has been chastised for making some mistakes earlier this season, but he has recently demonstrated his value to the Celtic team.

However, against Rangers at Ibrox earlier this season, Hart demonstrated his true worth to the Celtic team. His leadership and experience helped guide an inexperienced centre-back pairing of Gustaf Lagerbielke and Liam Scales through a difficult afternoon at Ibrox, resulting in a 1-0 Celtic victory.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Rodgers must make a decision on the £1 million player and whether or not he still has a future at Celtic.
Based on recent performances, it appears that Joe Hart, despite having a 20-year career, still has a lot to offer.
