Paul Merson predicts Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest result and whether Reds can win the Premier League

Paul Merson believes Liverpool will win again.
The legendary player for Arsenal stated that the match is far from decided, but based on Liverpool’s early-season form, he projected a 2-0 victory.

“I think Liverpool will win, but it could still be a tough match.” Thus far, Arne Slot’s men have impressed me,” Merson wrote in his Sportskeeda column.

Thanks to their strong start to the season, supporters and analysts alike have predicted that the Reds will challenge for the Premier League title.

Merson believes they have everything it takes to succeed, but injuries may limit their progress in the race for the championship.

He went on, “I think they have a chance to win the league if they keep all of their players healthy, and I said this from day one.

“However, it will start to look a little different and could cause issues for Slot if they do sustain injuries. If you look at Manchester City, they won the title even though they occasionally played without Kevin De Bruyne or Erling Haaland.

“Unfortunately, Liverpool’s squad depth doesn’t afford them that kind of luxury. Because of this, cautious player management is even more crucial.

Steve Nicol feels Liverpool is still behind Arsenal and Manchester City, at least for the time being, despite Merson’s belief that Liverpool can contend for the Premier League title this season.
