Paulo Bernardo Posts on Instagram After Standout Performance For His Country
Paulo Bernardo, a midfielder for Celtic, is having a fantastic season.
Over the last few games, Brendan Rodgers has started the 22-year-old in place of Matt O’Riley, and he hasn’t looked out of place.
In a 3-0 victory away at St. Mirren, he was impressive. A week later, in the Glasgow derby against Rangers, he produced an incredible performance.
Bernardo would constantly harass his opponents, win the ball back, and play it forward through the lines like a bulldog in the middle of the park. After putting multiple Rangers players in the box and creating space for a shot, he was unfortunate not to score.
Following his dominant display in midfield against the Ibrox club, Bernardo took off to play for the under-21 team of Portugal.
The midfield player, who leads the age group, scored in their most recent victory against Croatia.
Bernardo made a nice move and coolly knocked home from close range.
Following it on Instagram, the former Benfica player shared his happy international break.
The Celt posted a photo of himself sporting a Portugal t-shirt and wrote, in Portuguese, albeit , “Yet another fantastic victory!” We remain a couple!
Portugal’s triumph in Karlovac kept them on track to make it to the under-21 European Championship the next year.
With two games remaining, Bernardo and his teammates lead their qualifying group by four points.
They may formally guarantee their spot in the competition for next summer in October when they play the Faroe Islands and Andorra back-to-back.
