Paulo Bernardo reckons Cristiano Ronaldo offers him the ideal example on how to cope with the constant top-level demands at Celtic.
As he works to advance his career, the Portuguese star is obsessed with the big games. It’s a never-ending situation for Brendan Rodgers’ team. Huge games, winning expectations, and a never-ending struggle to maintain your spot on the squad. Celtic is currently going through another trying time, both psychologically and physically. Five days after a matchup with Aberdeen for the top spot in the ding-dong Premiership, Bernardo and his teammates take on Atalanta in the Champions League.
In the time leading up to the next international break, Bergamo will face another match against Euro powerhouse RB Leipzig, the Dons in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final, and important league matches against Motherwell, Dundee, and Kilmarnock. There is no time limit on him representing his nation at the Under-21 level as well.
Some people are disgruntled or unable to handle the demands being placed on elite players at a time when his management was speaking last week about the game soon turning into a 12-month affair. But Bernardo has the ideal role model when his countryman is among the best players in history and has been playing for 20 years.
Ronaldo rose to the top thanks to his talent. He has remained there due to his drive and appetite for work and fitness as he approaches his 40th birthday. Bernardo answered, “Yeah, definitely,” after observing such commitment and corruption. That, in my opinion, is what sets him apart from the other players.

He sets a great example for me and teaches me a lot about football because of his strong mentality and unwavering attention on the game. We must be prepared since the top players on the top teams have always been at this level and have participated in those games.
