Philippe Clement addresses Rangers’ away-day challenges.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has spoken out about his team’s struggles on the road this season.

With only three wins from ten Scottish Premiership away matches, Rangers’ inconsistent form has contributed to a significant gap between themselves and league leaders Celtic. Clement’s side currently sits 13 points behind their rivals, and their next challenge is an away fixture against Dundee at Dens Park on Thursday.
Reflecting on the Hibernian Draw
Rangers’ most recent outing—a 3-3 draw against Hibernian—exemplified their away day struggles. Despite taking the lead twice, the team failed to hold on, conceding late and missing an opportunity to secure three points. Clement acknowledged the disappointment but highlighted the positives in the team’s attacking play.
“The Hibs game, I think the team played really well,” said Clement. “We scored three really good goals, and we had the domination. But you take two goals that are avoidable by winning the duels, and it’s about duels—it’s not about the organisation.”
Areas for Improvement

Clement identified defensive lapses as a recurring issue, stressing the importance of winning key battles on the pitch. He also pointed to the penalty decision that allowed Hibs to equalize late in the game, expressing frustration at the officiating.
“You get a penalty against where I see also ref watch, for example, the people who all played football all say it’s not a penalty, like my feelings on that,” Clement remarked.
While acknowledging external factors like refereeing, the Rangers boss emphasized the need for his team to improve decision-making and resilience during matches.
A Learning Curve for a Young Squad
Clement views these challenges as part of the growth process for his relatively young squad. He stressed the importance of sticking to the game plan and making better decisions under pressure.
“That’s something this young team will need to learn about—the decision-making and sticking to the plan to keep going in that way,” he added.
Looking Ahead
As Rangers prepare to face Dundee, Clement will hope his team can translate their attacking prowess into a solid all-round performance. With the title race slipping further out of reach, every point gained or lost will be critical to maintaining momentum and morale for the remainder of the season.
