Ramon Sosa’s Summer Transfer Stance Revealed
Nottingham Forest winger Ramon Sosa resisted the temptation to leave the club during the January transfer window despite receiving offers from Brazil, opting instead to stay and fight for his place under Nuno Espírito Santo.

According to journalist Christian Martin, via Versus, the 25-year-old Paraguayan had concrete opportunities to move outside of Europe, with Brazilian clubs showing keen interest in acquiring his services. However, Sosa remained committed to his Nottingham Forest journey, determined to make a name for himself in the Premier League.
Sosa joined Forest last summer from Argentine side CA Talleres in a €12 million deal—his first venture into European football. His transition, however, has not been seamless. The impressive form of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga has limited his game time, with Sosa featuring in just 11% of available Premier League minutes so far this season. Most of his appearances have come in domestic cup competitions, leaving him frustrated but undeterred.
Despite his limited role, Nottingham Forest reportedly rejected a bid for Sosa during the January window. The player himself was also uninterested in the proposal, reinforcing his commitment to the club.

Speaking about the situation in a video post on X, Martin explained the background of the transfer interest and Sosa’s decision to stay put:
“We said last week that Ramon had been tempted by important non-European clubs. Well, I’m going to tell you about the country. The country is Brazil.
“But I understand that Ramon, in the face of the possibility, wants to stay and succeed and make his name in Nottingham Forest.
“With that goal, with this opportunity, Nottingham Forest visits Fulham, here in London, at Craven Cottage—one of the most beautiful stadiums, close to the Thames—and it’s Ramoncito’s opportunity to continue adding time on the pitch with this Nottingham Forest team that excites its fans with moments of glory.”
Sosa’s resolve to remain in Nottingham despite limited playing time underlines his belief that he can contribute to the team’s success. With Forest continuing their fight for Premier League survival, his attitude could prove invaluable in the months ahead.
The upcoming clash with Fulham presents another opportunity for Sosa to showcase his talent and justify his decision to stay. Whether he can break into the starting lineup more regularly remains to be seen, but his commitment to the cause is clear.
