Rangers boss Philippe Clement shares what he hates about Celtic

The Ibrox giants have struggled to start the season and have lost their opening Old Firm derby, while the Bhoys, the defending Scottish champions, have gotten off to a strong start.

Rangers have a team that Clement believes can contend with Celtic for the league championship. He is aware that it won’t be simple, though, as the Bhoys have been assembling a potent team for more than a year.

The manager of Belgium claims that the Gers want to quickly alter the current situation because they detest the fact that Celtic are currently ahead of them.

“The other side of the town have been building their squad for more than one year and playing together. It’s normal that they are ahead now. I hate that and I want to change that as fast as possible,” said Clement, as quoted by Glasgow World.

The Rangers are undergoing yet another rebuilding process.
Rangers wouldn’t be the same team if they had £50 million to spend, according to Graeme Souness’ recent statement. The Bears will need to be creative in their approach to the transfer market because they are currently unable to spend as much money as their competitors.
Matt O’Riley left Celtic this summer for a club record fee to join Brighton, but they were still able to restock the roster with talented newcomers. Among others, they lavished large sums of money on Adam Idah and Arne Angels.

Rangers, on the other hand, lost 16 players this summer, some of whom were free agents. Replacing the players with more expensive ones wasn’t an easy task.

The Old Firm defeat to Celtic demonstrated the disparity in quality between the two teams, but Rangers supporters will take great pride in their manager’s belief that the gap will close.
