Rangers supporters are hearing the name Connor Barron more and more often.
The 21-year-old Aberdeen midfielder, who is free agent this summer, is regarded as one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
Many Rangers fans have suggested that their team sign the midfield player as a result, but as of right now, there hasn’t been any firm evidence of an official interest.
Instead, it seems more likely that Connor Barron will move down south; Swansea City reportedly had a bid rejected in January.
Barron is a “no-brainer” for either side of the Old Firm, according to a former Rangers star who has been pushing his former team to sign him.
Andy Halliday: Josh Barron is a “no-brainer” for the Rangers
Andy Halliday stated on Clyde Superscoreboard that Connor Barron led the Celtic midfield at Hampden on Saturday.
The midfielder for Aberdeen played a fantastic game as the Dons lost on penalties following an exciting 3-3 draw, and thus missed out on the Scottish Cup Final.
Motherwell midfielder Halliday asserted that Barron was the “best player on the pitch” and said it would be foolish for Rangers or Celtic to pass on the Pittodrie prospect.
Halliday remarked, “It was a really off performance for Celtic’s midfield.”

“I believe it to be the most potent division on the Celtics roster. For the most part of that, I felt Aberdeen prevailed over them.
To be honest, I felt that Connor Barron was the best player on the pitch on Saturday.
“In the summer, his contract expires. Although I’m not trying to convince him to leave Aberdeen, I always think Celtic and Rangers should be focusing on these kinds of obvious choices.

In particular, when they are attempting to assemble European talent for their domestic teams. I felt he was very good.
Halliday responded, “Absolutely not, I’ve heard a few links down south as well,” when asked if he is pushing the Rangers to relocate.
“They seem like a no-brainer to me, but it doesn’t seem like there’s been much discussion there,”
Will Rangers regret not pursuing the Aberdeen star?
This is not a new story to Rangers supporters.
Even though Connor Barron isn’t listed in any official Rangers transfer reports, many people are still analysing the midfield player.
Earlier in the season, there were rumours pointing to an Ibrox deal, with the midfield player possibly being the long-term replacement for another former Pittodrie star who is currently with Rangers.

Since Ryan Jack’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, it might make sense for Connor Barron to take his place in order to preserve the club’s domestic options.
Given that Connor Barron has also changed agencies this season, it seems the Aberdeen player is attempting to negotiate for the greatest deal in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.
There will be scepticism regarding a possible Ibrox switch, though, as long as the Rangers aren’t made official mention of.
There are now worries that Rangers may pass up yet another homegrown talent.
Lewis Ferguson, a midfielder for Bologna who recently received a devastating injury diagnosis, is the clearest example of a player who got away from Rangers.
However, Rangers may regret not signing a long-term contract with a number of them, including a young player who was recently linked to Manchester City.
Is Connor Barron going to be the next?
