Rod Stewart gave Celtic ultras the finger in response to a hostile reception outside Parkhead.
The famous rocker and Hoops super-fan was entering the ground ahead of today’s match against Motherwell when the altercation took place with ultra group the Green Brigade. The Daily Record reports that he was booed by the banned group who could also be heard singing “F*** the Tories” before kick off.
Pictures from the incident show Rod sticking his middle finger up and smiling in the direction of the gathered fan group. It comes as the Green Brigade launched a ‘day of action’ by gathering on the Celtic Way to welcome Brendan Rodgers’ men as they prepare to face the Lanarkshire side in the Scottish Premiership. The group were last month immediately banned from all home and away fixtures by the Celtic board after “unacceptable behaviour” in the stands.
Other images show the group gathered outside the ground as they welcomed Celtic stars. UItras let off pyro and held up banners as they made some noise ahead of the 3pm kick off.
