Due to the club’s decision to loan out backup left-back Alexandro Bernabei, Celtic is now shorthanded in defence, which makes the squad appear weak at that position. Since Greg Taylor is the team’s main option, questions have been raised concerning the team’s depth and preparedness to handle upcoming challenges in the absence of sufficient cover.

In response to these worries, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers offered an explanation that might allay some anxieties by suggesting a tactical change that might see center-back Liam Scales moved to occupy Bernabei’s spot in the event that Taylor is hurt. “I’m confident enough in what we have in the squad and the remainder of the season that we will have coverage in that position,” Rodgers said to Celtic TV. Lam Scales has performed there, so perhaps we can find another opportunity to perform there.

Although Bernabei’s loan may have seemed unnecessary to some, Rodgers’ assurance suggests a bigger picture and may also suggest that the Irishman had little confidence in the Argentinian’s ability to perform.
The boys from Celtic need to bounce back from their league loss the previous weekend in order to guarantee their spot in the semi-final draw on Sunday night as they get ready for their Scottish Cup matchup against Livingston.
