Sead Haksabanovic has signed a permanent deal with Malmo after his Celtic exit was approved by the club.

Ange Postecoglou signed Haksa at the start of his second season, and the Australian helped Celtic win a Treble before leaving for Spurs. Brendan Rodgers did not appear to rate the ex-West Ham player highly, prompting the player to vent his frustration on social media.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City after appearing to be out of the manager’s plans.

Malmo has now confirmed on Twitter/X that the Montenegro Internationalist has signed a four-year contract.

Haksabanovic responded to the news by posting an emotional farewell on social media. However, the winger couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a shot at Brendan for allowing his exit.

In an Instagram post, Haksabanovic wrote:

“So my time at Celtic has come to an end, earlier than I thought and expected and wanted but some other people had another opinion and I gotta respect that.”

Rodgers bombed Haksabanovic after a cryptic Instagram post about his involvement, which limited him to substitute appearances. The manager appeared to indicate that the club would consider offers for the player, and a move to PAOK appeared to be on the verge of completion before Stoke stepped in.

Haksabanovic leaves the club after making 42 appearances, scoring 13 goals and assisting nine times. He will most likely become an obscure pub quiz question among Celtic fans, but it is clear that he is a very talented, skilful player who will hopefully have a successful career.
