‘Sensational’: Aston Villa ace told he did something vs Nottingham Forest no one has in Premier League history
Jamie Redknapp says Emiliano Martinez made the best Premier League save ever
In what would have been a far more easy stop in the last moments of the match, Martinez’s headed effort was relatively tame, thus one could argue that he could have done better for Milenkovic’s goal.
However, Jamie Redknapp believes the Argentine made the best save he has ever witnessed in the Premier League when it came to blocking Dominguez’s shot at goal.
Redkapp explained on Sky Sports: “I can’t think of a better save and there are a few reasons why.”
“He has already got himself in a position where he is trying to get space for himself and then somehow he reacts.”
“I can’t think of a better Premier League save in my life. We talk about the Pele one from Gordon Banks (in the 1970 FIFA World Cup). Somehow, he saved it. It’s almost like a magician, sleight of hand. That is truly sensational.”
Lee Hendrie hails “phenomenal” Martinez save during Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest
After his valor, Lee Hendrie was just as proud of Martinez.
“That save is exceptional. All I can think about is the ball’s speed. Amazing.
The outcome versus Forest will ultimately disappoint the former Arsenal goalie.
But after perhaps making the biggest save of his career, Martinez might end up remembering this particular game with fondness.
At the very least, the 32-year-old’s save ranks among the best the Premier League has ever witnessed or seen.
