Sheffield Wednesday interested in signing Malick Yalcouye

Brighton, a Premier League team, is planning to loan out Malick Yalcouye during this transfer window, according to Charlie Parker-Turner of the Daily Express. The midfield player impressed the Seagulls during the preseason, according to the report, but it has been decided that he will play elsewhere in the upcoming season.

Sheffield United and Luton Town are rumoured to be interested in signing the player, but Wednesday is up against them. Yalcouye is believed to have paid £6 million to join Brighton from Swedish club IFK Goteborg earlier in this transfer window.

The midfielder hasn’t yet participated in a competitive match for the team, but according to Parker-Turner, he has made an impression in the preseason for the elite team. The 18-year-old began his professional career at ASEC Mimosas. In 2023, at the age of 17, he made his debut in the African Champions League, signalling the beginning of some very significant things in the player’s career.

Yalcouye wasn’t with the Swedish team for very long before heading to England and signing with Brighton; he only joined IFK Goteborg earlier this year. He did, however, play a lot for the team, appearing in 11 Allsvenskan games and scoring one goal. He also participated in three Svenska Cupen games.

According to Transfermarkt, the young midfield player played 162 minutes in the cup competition in addition to 959 minutes in the Swedish league.
