Some Wage Bill: Former Hibernian Star Dissatisfied With Performance
Tam McManus has lamented Hibernian’s ballooning wage bill as the team continues to struggle on the pitch this season.
Hibs have struggled this season under manager Nick Montgomery, and they are currently outside the top six in the Scottish Premiership table.
The club is set to receive new investment, but their latest accounts show a £3.9 million loss and an 81 percent wage-to-turnover ratio.
Outside of the Old Firm clubs, Hibs has one of the highest wage bills in Scotland, but their performances this season have not been consistent with how much they spend on players.
McManus pointed out that Hibernian have underperformed this season while player salaries have skyrocketed at Easter Road.
The former Hibs striker posted on X, “Some wage bill at Easter Road with a squad that is mostly underachieving.”

montgomery is desperate to turn things around as Hibernian look to finish in the top six this season.
His future is uncertain, just as the club’s spending power is expected to increase as a result of new investment.
