After Alex Mighten left Nottingham Forest, the club director praised him.
Mighten joined San Diego from the City Ground, Forest announced, just before the transfer window closed in the UK.

“Alex is an exciting addition to San Diego FC, bringing the energy and creativity we seek in our attacking players,” Tyler Heaps, the club’s sporting director, stated on the official website. His ability to throw defenders off balance is one of his special and distinctive qualities, and we are eager to see what he can offer the Major League Soccer.

Mighten wise to leave Forest

The Reds winger contributed to the team’s 2021–22 promotion-winning campaign and appeared to be a long-term fixture at the football club.

He has, however, struggled during a number of loan spells, and it is not his fault.

Despite using a system that wouldn’t work for Mighten, Darren Moore took him to Sheffield Wednesday, and after he was hired by Port Vale, Mighten also lost favour.

Mighten, who is 22 years old, still has a tonne of potential, as he demonstrated at Forest by playing a variety of front-line positions.

He made 67 appearances while he was a Trentsider, recording two assists and four goals.

He now has the opportunity to really take off with a team, and the MLS could be the ideal league for his career to take off. It will be interesting to watch how he performs in the upcoming years.
