Spurs boss Postecoglou tries to explain 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest
Ange Postecoglou says it is ‘only logical’ that fatigued Spurs are faltering.
Spurs have lost nine of their eighteen games this season, dropping them to eleventh place in the Premier League.
However, those extra games are taxing a Spurs team that is without center-backs Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Ben Davies as well as first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Under former Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest moved up to third place thanks to a goal from Anthony Elanga in the first half.
Despite having more than 70% of the ball, Tottenham was unable to convert their possession at the City Ground.
Postecoglou stated, “We are asking a lot of this group of players, a lot of these guys are playing every three days.”
It makes sense that they won’t be at their best, but they’re making an effort.
“Aside from giving up a disappointing goal, the boys put in a lot of effort and we tried to create as many opportunities as we could given the game’s circumstances and Forest’s style of play.” We simply were unable to cross the finish line.
