STANDARD LIEGE SIGN FOR FORMER CELTIC DEFENDER AFTER RELEASE FROM KV MECHELEN.
Standard Liege have signed Boli Bolingoli for free. The 29-year-old left-back was released by Belgian Pro League team KV Mechelen at the end of his contract. Bolingoli’s stint with Malinwa was marred by injuries, and he was unable to put together a steady run of games. Standard is operating on a restricted budget and must find ways to construct a team without investing a lot of money.
Bolingoli moved to Mechelen from Celtic for the 2022/2023 season. During his time with Celtic, he made 31 appearances, including a loan spell with Istanbul Basaksehir. Before moving to Rapid Vienna and Celtic, the defender played for Club Brugge and Sint-Truiden in Belgium. He made 34 appearances for Mechelen. The defender only made 13 appearances last season. Hopefully, the injuries that have hampered him over the last several seasons will be behind him as he attempts to aid Standard in the 2024/2025 season.
