Stephen McGinn wonders if the 23-year-old deserves to play for Celtic once more at this point.

It’s probably accurate to state that the one aspect of Celtic that has recently been subjected to some very harsh criticism is recruitment.
For a number of years now, in fact, it has been the biggest pet peeve of Celtic supporters. With the exception of Ange Postecoglou’s rookie campaign, Celtic’s signing strategy has been inconsistent.

When it does, dividends are received. Finding hidden treasures like Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate is counterbalanced by dropping a sizable sum of money on people like Alexandro Bernabei.

And it was the Argentine who was under Stephen McGinn’s scrutiny after the 23-year-old, who was brought on as a replacement for the injured Greg Taylor, was unable to persuade that he is talented enough to play for Celtic.

Will Alexandro Bernabei play for Celtic again?

That has undoubtedly been questioned by Stephen McGinn. The radio pundit and captain of Falkirk is still not persuaded and believes his time in paradise may be coming to an end.

“Isn’t that a not game [Kilmarnock] where you can find a place for Nawrocki in the team if Greg Taylor has to come off?” McGinn said on The Go Radio Football Show.”I don’t know if Bernabie should ever wear a Celtic strip again, but he’s more likely to defend your back post than Liam Scales, so can you put him at left back?”
It is highly unlikely that Bernabei will be used again this season based on what we have witnessed over the previous two and a half seasons at Celtic.

Bernabei has had a difficult time persuading Rodgers that he should be in his squad after missing a team meeting for the season’s opening game against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. After failing to make an impression against Aberdeen and Ross County, as well as being responsible for Kilmarnock’s equaliser the previous weekend, Bernabei will have persuaded Rodgers to at least consider strengthening that position in the upcoming summer transfer window.
