This summer at the City Ground, a lot of squad reorganisation is anticipated as Ross Wilson and Evangelos Marinakis work to reduce Nuno Espirito Santo’s overabundant roster.
Felipe, Wayne Hennessey, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Felipe have already been released from Nottingham Forest, and now another player wants to leave the team.

Vlachodimos Odysseas is eager to leave Nottingham Forest.
It has been reported by The Athletic that Odysseas Vlachodimos intends to depart from Nottingham Forest during the summer.

The Greece international is reportedly very irritated with the lack of opportunities at the City Ground and is especially eager to get out of town as quickly as possible.

Last season, Vlachodimos played in just five Premier League games; his final game was a 5-0 loss at Craven Cottage against Fulham in December.

Subsequently, Matt Turner assumed the top spot, and Matz Sels succeeded the American international.

Nuno decided to leave the Belgium international off the team completely after he arrived from Strasbourg in January, so Vlachodimos was not even worthy of a spot on the bench.
The Athletic further states that Nottingham Forest is willing to sell the gloveman, who was born in Stuttgart, for a price of £4.5 million this summer.

Compared to the original £7.7 million Nottingham Forest paid to sign Vlachodimos from Benfica in September 2023, that amounts to a meagre £3.2 million loss.

It is not the fault of the Greece international to feel this way.
We feel sorry for Vlachodimos because he had a very difficult season personally during the 2023–2024 campaign.

After five years at Benfica, the 30-year-old not only uprooted his family and his life, but he also voluntarily gave up his No. 1 spot in Lisbon, which allowed him to compete for awards and play frequently in the UEFA Champions League.

Vlachodimos most likely didn’t give up all of that to start as Nottingham Forest’s third choice because he was undoubtedly promised a bigger role and more opportunities to showcase his abilities than just five Premier League games.
With a contract that expires in July 2027, the Nottingham Forest No. 23 may have to wait to leave the City Ground if he can’t find a new club this summer.
